We have good news!! So good!

 Friends, Family and Prayer Warriors,

We got our pet scan today finally at UNC Chapel Hill at 11am and then raced back to Raleigh for our appointment with our oncologist scheduled at 1:30, and we were only 10 minutes late.  It was a whirlwind after being told that my original Pet scan was cancelled for the 2nd time because the machine was broken at UNC/Rex Hospital in Raleigh.

Here's the BEST PART.....

My Dr. feels SURE that the cancer is only in my right hip/pelvis area and THAT IS IT!!!!!!  OMG!! I wish you could have seen our faces. Chuck and I looked at each other, grabbed each other and it was such great news!  Of course, our fear was that it has spread further, but it did not!

The doctor said "it's the best of the worst news...yes, you have metastatic breast cancer, but it is isolated". We don't have the radiology report to finalize this yet, but truly...whatever Dr. Kritz says has always turned out to be correct.

I will be on two different types of medications (pill form) to block the estrogen that is feeding the cancer (Ibrance and Anastrozal) and then some bone strengthening medication shots or IV (tbd) (Xgera or Zometa) and about four weeks of radiation which will help my pain. We have good prospects of getting this into remission! It's all about the hormone inhibitor therapy for me (kicking the estrogen/cancer-feeder out of here). Chemo will not be the best option for this, so I don't hate that!

I’ll be on these meds for life and/or will shift to something else as we go on since yes, MBC is a lifelong thing and yes, it is a terminal illness, and if it moves, or treatment becomes unresponsive, they have many other options. I should be able to live life in a full way, and that is exactly what I will do!

We both thank you for all of your support, prayers, and good thoughts… It really worked! We believe that. I prayed the whole time I was in the CT Scanner today.  Please continue the prayers. We have a forever journey, but we can do it with these amazing doctors and with your love and support!

We have some big life news to share on Monday -all good news!! Stay tuned!

-Love y'all,
Chill, our couple name (Chuck/Jill)
