Big Announcement! We are moving!

 We've been holding this announcement about our big move until our home went FOR SALE officially, since I'm a licensed real estate agent, I cannot market any listing before it is actively for sale.

So, today is the day our home is for sale!  It is a BEAUTIFUL SHOW STOPPER. We moved in only 9 months ago and we've made some improvements in that short time including, a full tech wi-fi/hi-fi package, hardscape, heavy landscape, gutter guards, and more. Chuck and I have been making plans for a life that allows to focus on life, living, and experiences and this move to downsize will help us do just that. And guess what?....

We're moving back to Traditions Wake Forest!!  We'll be back in our former neighborhood, where we feel comfortable and the love and support of many friends and neighbors. Here's a photo of our new pad - closing June 17th.  And our dog Henry is a superstar there!  He will really enjoy walking through the 'hood, seeing his friends. Plus, I do a lot of real estate in this neighborhood, so I will really love that part! There are a FEW PHOTOS HERE. 



How in the world can we add in a big move on top of the medical situation, you might ask? Great question!  It's not easy, it's a doozy and we have had help getting the house show-ready from ladies in my group Fierce in the Forest, who showed up and made it happen for me!!  I am so grateful to every one that has jumped in to come to my rescue...in so many ways. We feel like it's best to make this move now while we feel we can, because we are aware that things can change. 

We are excited! 

In other news, today is Brain MRI Day. I loathe this scan...because the machine is so close to your face, it's the only time I feel claustrophobic. My friend Laurie (also a Fierce Gal), is my ride today since they are going to give me Valium to help me relax, and she's my designated driver!

The Last 2 Weeks

Hello all, this is Chuck writing.   First off, I want to thank all of you for walking this journey with us.  The prayers, calls, texts, messages, food, cards and visits have meant the world to us. Jill just completed her 2nd week on the medication of Ibrance.  So far so good…The side effects have been fairly minimal and her blood counts are good.  She is still adjusting to the hormone therapy and is experiencing on/off fatigue, pain and some nausea.  The side effects have lessened from the 1st medication since she started the anastrozole several weeks back.  She is stronger emotionally and is a trooper and our hope and prayer is that these medicines are working to suppress her cancer from moving and reappearing.  She will have a Pet Scan in a few months to determine how effective the radiation and hormone therapy has been.  We are confident that they are doing their job! What A Difference A Week Makes

 Hi Friends and Family - Here we are, the last day of May - can you believe it? Time sure does fly, that's not just a saying...that's for real.  Tomorrow, June 1, will be 2 months since we first met with my oncologist and hear him say, "I think this is your breast cancer metastasized to your bone".  In some ways, it's hard to believe it has been 2 months already, and in others, it feels like yesterday.  From day 1 (probably from birth), I've been complex. I've lived a somewhat complex life in my growing years and beyond at times, and this breast cancer since 2010 has been a little out of the norm - a little complex.  In my primary cancer in 2010 (remember....if you're metastatic, the original breast cancer is called "primary"), my breast surgeon at the time, Dr. Stocks, said "this is Sheryl Crow style cancer - you have one little tumor...we'll do a lumpectomy and radiation likely and that is it."  Well...nope. Radiation Complete - The Latest News

 Hi Friends and Family! It's been 12 days since we've written!  Here is the big news - RADIATION IS COMPLETE!  Have you ever wondered what a day in the life of SBRT Radiation is like? haha!  Sure you have! Well...it's a very precise science. Literally, this radiation finds its way around organs and the bladder, bowel, to get right to the tumor site and zap it without damaging my insides along the way.  Before the SBRT radiation is even scheduled, a 3D model is created using specific software, with the CT Scan and Pet Scan that I did earlier. The  radiation therapists - I always had 4 of them align my body precisely—within millimeters—using lasers and real-time imaging called Cone Beam CT Scan.  This is done each and every time.  There were sheets underneath me the radiation techs would pull to move me, and the the bed itself would move.
